Talking Any advice/seeds for the broke (frugal) native plant enthusiast?

Does anyone have suggestions on easy to grow native plants from seed? Preferably something I could harvest or a gardener who happens to have a seeding plant (I would happily send a self addressed envelope their way). I would like to try California buckwheat or coyote mint, but am open to suggestions or seeds to try. I haven't had luck growing sages from seed. I live in the valley, if that's of interest. Thanks!

Default Seeds for natives

I was hoping you would have heard from a gardener who had seeds to share with you. I do not have any.

I am a canyoneer naturalist with the San Diego Natural History Museum. I hope you can get some shared to you or you can find some seeds to harvest on private land with the owner's permission. Please do not collect seed on public or Indian land. The wildlife there may depend on that seed for food, or it might produce the next crop of native plant seedlings.
